Sleeping Angels

Have you ever just watched a child sleep? I'm sure you all have, there's just something magical about the angelicness of a sleeping child. We have a routine at bedtime in our house; the boys brush their teeth, have a "sword fight", grab a drink of water and then drag their blankets (and any animals & pillows that might be lost at bedtime) to their beds. They hop into their beds and I tuck them in (if Ray's home we both tuck). They gets lots of kisses and hugs then I always ask them their favorite part of the day (they let you know if you forget to ask). After the favorite part of the day, there's more kisses and hugs. When I head off to bed, I always go in to check on them and give more kisses and "I love yous". Then I have a hard time leaving them...they just look so angelic and peaceful. It doesn't matter if you've had the rottenness of days with them, if they've just been poops and faught you all day long, when you tuck them in and get that "I love you" your day just turns around and you wonder how you could have ever been mad at them to begin with. They have favorite sleeping partners...Sean's is his "Blue" (his green fringe blankie) and has to have the magic fringy, that's about 5 inches long, to rub his nose with. Nicholas loves any of his blankets (he has 4) or his stuffed animals (he has 4), any will do but, most of the time they are all cuddled around him. The pictures I've posted of our "sleeping angels" are from Feb. 2007, as you can see Sean is cuddled with his everloving Blue (and his binky at the time) and Nicholas has fallen asleep doing one of his favorite activities...coloring. Sean is one day away from his 1st birthday in his pic & Nicholas is 3 1/2 in his pic.
