2012 Book Challenge!

So one of my New Year's Resolutions for 2012 is to keep track of all of the books I read this year (and then yes of course I'm going to scrap it). Here in The Remacle household we are big readers, yes all 5 of us! Both boys have reading homework every night which really provides a lot of opportunity for library visits & new authors. Nicholas has a really cool reading home work book...on the back of each month's calendar is a "tic-tac-toe" board with different genre's. There is always a block for a Caldecott winner book and an author of the month-with several author's to choose from. There are also different genres each month which have consisted of a religion book, the Sunday comics, information books (Nicholas checked out a book about prehistoric poop! The boys had a great time with this one!), and lots of others. He can get a book mark for a tic-tac-toe & a book for a blackout. He has challenged himself & thus far has recieved a blackout each month.
Anyway, now that I've rambled on about that...on to my challenge! I also challenge you to keep track of all of the books you read & post them where ever. You can create a blog to do a mini review on each book you read, keep them in a word document, or add them to a current blog! Then, share which ones are worth reading! I plan on adding mine somewhere on here & then doing a star review:
***** = LOVED IT!
**** = Really liked it
*** = OK
** = Didn't like it
* = HATED IT!
I'm excited to see how many books I read this year & to share with you the ones that I think are worth reading. I have been utilizing my Kindle & the library to broaden my horizons when it comes to books. One web site/facebook site that I strongly recommend is Pixel of Ink. This is a great web site & is freqently updated throughout the day with all sorts of free books to download to your Kindle or Nook. It's great and has gotten me out of my normal authors. For instance, I just finished "The Barefoot Sisters" which I downloaded for free and wouldn't have read otherwise. I loved this book! It's about 2 sisters who walked the Appalachian Trail, most of it barefoot. It told of there trials, successes, and all of the generous trail angels they met thoughout their journey. It was a great read & leaves me searching for the second book "The Barefoot Sisters: Walking Home". Anyway, this is the stuff I want you to share! So let's do this together & share our good reads!
Hmmm...after writing this I'm now thinking of starting a whole new blog devoted just to this! :-) LOL-wait to see what happens!
