Party Prep

Holy Cow! My little boy is turning 7 (and has several lose teeth!) in just a little over week. It's hard to believe....Thus, we are busy planning the "ultimate" Star Wars party. Thank goodness for Pintrest is all I can say! In his planning of this party, he wanted to watch a Star Wars movie; Thankfully, when informed that it might not be appropriate for some families and that there was no way him & his friends were going to sit through a good hour long plus movie, he settled for this:

Yes, that is a "Lego Star Wars: The Padawan Menace" movie (found online on the Walmart website for $9.96). It is 22 minutes long, Legos, and the Yoda is very similar to the invitation Yoda. For this Star Wars boy, it was a must have!

The invites took over 4 hours to create and turned out SUPER adorable (yep, I'm totally bragging on these). I used the templates from The Purple Patch blogspot and then tweaked it a little with the invites by Jennifer S on Catch My Party. The lightsaber part actually can pull up or down into the handle (easier to send that way!). I addressed all of the invites with: Jedi (insert childs name) and mailed it to them with the return from Jedi Sean. The actual invite said "May the Force bring you to Sean's 7th Birthday" and then indicated that the Jedi would meet at our house with the date & address.

The napkins, plates, cups, and a few of the favors arrived yesterday & you would have theought Santa arrived with a bag of gifts! Sean ripped into the box and started pulling everything out. He was mighty surprised to find that there were Disney Princess silly bandz in his box of Star Wars (pre-purchasing for Elli's Tangled party in June-they were on a stellar deal!) He was so excited & it was a blast to watch! Now, we are just down to the preliminaries....games, a possible craft, and the making of a couple of things. I have to admit, I'm just as excited as he is. I love planning birthday parties for my kiddos. They get so excited & having them participate in the planning makes it so much more special...something that we can do together. Sean helped picked out the invites, some of his favors, the cupcake toppers, the plates, napkins, table cloth, and has been checking stuff out on Pintrest right along beside me. It's been so much fun! Watch for the actual party post coming up in the next couple of weeks with more pictures!
